Lucidx OCADU thesis- Major Design Project. 2024

 

LUCIDX:

An exploration into User Experience Design for the sake of a new engagement paradigm, and the development of the Visceral Experience System Design methodology.​​

Project X is an AI-driven project growth platform that merges your network and real-time data to deliver the insights, connections, and tools you need to launch and scale your venture.

 

Built from the top down as an empathetic response to entrepreneurial needs, it equips you with resources, roadmaps, and the collaborations essential for success.

 

By consolidating your social and professional networks—and introducing you to new connections—Project X provides intelligent insights for skill development, creativity, and collaboration. Ultimately, it drives project execution through smart management insights for business development, along with funding acquisition and ongoing support.

The Development of an Enriched Engagement Paradigm.

The V.E.S. (Visceral Experience System) design methodology is intended to bridge the gaps between the core elements of the human experience and the advanced technologies shaping the present and future landscape of UI/UX, AI, AR, and XR.
(User Interface, User Experience, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Extended Reality.)

 

A Visceral Experience System is not just a technological engagement and interfacing platform—it is a framework for user-system coexistence. It enhances sensory connections with technology, our environment, our communities, and ourselves.

LucidX is an interactive platform concept designed to seamlessly integrate digital interactions into the real world. It leverages cutting-edge technologies and intelligent intervention to create sensationally stimulating experiences. Through LucidX, users can discover, create, and connect with one another while experiencing the omnipresence of data and technology’s potential. By incorporating AI and intuitive interface interactions, LucidX delivers a new level of emotional resonance and visceral awareness.

How Can a Mass Population Re-Engage with Physical and Viscerally Stimulating Activities Within Their Urban Environment?

FlowState is an activity incentive platform designed to help young men and inner-city residents reconnect with physical activity, environmental appreciation, and social engagement.

Your account tracks your progress through a points-based system. Points are awarded based on participation in public events, personal challenges, and group activities— with higher scores given for better performance. Activities include individual challenges, social activities, and community-driven events, encouraging a wide range of participation.

 

FlowState empowers users to engage in activities that make them feel like their best selves. It fosters confidence through tangible progress tracking, friendly competition, social community engagement, and a generative approach to appreciating one’s current stage in life.

By promoting individual engagement or re-engagement with physical activity and visceral experiences, FlowState provides an avenue for those at risk of—or currently struggling with—mood disorders to explore new pathways for self-care and personal development.

EXPLORING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR LONG TERM CARE INDEPENDENCE USING MACHINE VISION AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

How Might Machine Vision and AI Technologies Be Utilized to Improve the Effectiveness of Healthcare and Well-Being?

​

In exploring machine vision, we examined how the digital world can "see" and learn about its natural environment through technologies such as RADAR/LIDAR, photogrammetry, image and facial recognition, and environmental triangulation. We analyzed specific applications of these technologies, including self-driving cars, the Dyson 360 Eye robot, and the Xbox Kinect.

 

Our research into the Internet of Things (IoT) led us to explore how various everyday and specialized objects communicate with one another and their users. We studied the history and potential future of products like Google Home, smart plugs, and Wi-Fi-enabled light bulbs, as well as their commercial and industrial applications. A technology that once enabled remote toaster activation has now evolved to control entire smart home ecosystems.

 

Through machine learning and AI, we investigated the advancements in how information technologies "think." We consulted experts developing object recognition software and autonomous drone piloting systems to gain deeper insight into the field.

Problem Space: Healthcare System

Our chosen problem space is healthcare, with primary users including doctors, patients, and caregivers. Additional stakeholders include insurance companies, government agencies, emergency response experts, and others within the broader healthcare network.

Current issues in the healthcare system include:

  • Lack of efficiency

  • Limited resources

  • Insufficient personalization

  • Reduced patient independence​

This report outlines the development process of MAE as a unique product designed to fulfill a specific value proposition: serving as a digital, intelligent care provider.

MAE was primarily conceptualized to assist elderly individuals and those living with cognitive or memory-affective ailments.

​

When independence becomes a challenge to a person's well-being and longevity, a system like MAE could make a meaningful and lasting impact.
